Thunderstorm Dancing, coming soon

Hello! It looks like you can pre-order a copy of Thunderstorm Dancing now on Booktopia. And probably lots of other places too.

Plans are afoot to have some celebrations throughout April to mark the release of Thunderstorm Dancing, and I’ll post more on that soon.

Huzzah!

Thanks Phil. A lot of it came out of my childhood, and a lot from my family and kids now. Fringes on towels are back in fashion, you know. Impractical but so summer celebratory! :-)

Do you think there is any possibility of ordering a book signed by the author and artist? I have been so excited for this book as I love your artwork and of course I have a cat that looks just like the one in the book

Hi again Lisa. I would love to sell you a signed copy of the book. (I’m not sure how the author bit would work as Katrina is in South Australia and I’m in Victoria. Perhaps we should sign and swap books with one another. I’ll give that some further thought.) I hope you will like the little Cornish. If you are a cat show person I’m sure you will find lots of faults as I didn’t have the real thing to pose for me. I wish I could have done. The nearest I got was to a lovely little Devon Rex that someone was kind enough to bring to work to show me. And they are rather different from the Cornish aren’t they? I had a nice cuddle though.

It’s rather ironic that both breeds of pet that I chose to be companions for an anxious little girl during a thunderstorm (Cornish Rex and Whippet) are the types that would be very likely to be anxious themselves. But there’s the beauty of picturebook licence:-) The whippet was chosen for her similarity to lightning. For a little while she was going to BE the lightning. The Cornish was just because I like them. They’re so quirky and delicate and big eyed and big eared and very, very sweet. And I love big noses.

I’m needing to upgrade my blog to get rid of the ads. I may upgrade further to be able to sell. So watch this space. Otherwise you can email me to buy a copy. I don’t have any to sell yet though. Just one copy to keep me happy. Feel free to send me Cornish photos any time. I love them!

Even if it was just your signature, that would be great too! I don’t show cats so I’m sure I wouldn’t notice any faults but I do love the overall breed look and personality and actually…. they are a very outgoing cat so it was probably a perfect choice for the book. They are the first ones to the door to greet visitors, even before the dog! :-) Again looking forward to seeing all of your lovely illustrations.

Hi Lisa, No worries. I’ll put a copy aside for you has soon as I get some. That’s great to hear about your Cornish being outgoing and meeting visitors at the door! How fabulous. What kind of dog do you have?
